You know that saying “The more you have, the more you want?”
I’m beginning to feel that way about writing.
Books, in particular.
Because another idea—the second this month—came fully formed into my consciousness last night as I was making tea, and I can’t tell you how much I’m itching to finish this current novel that I’m writing so that I can start the next one. And I haven’t even actually started “writing” this one yet. I have a 16,000-word outline that I’ll be working off, but the actual scenes and words still need to be written.
More reason to just get on with it and quickly, I guess.
My goal is to start writing and finish this current book during the Write With Me 2020 challenge that’s starting on February 1. This new idea has now given me the additional kick up the arse (not that I needed one) to get this book written.
My energy is palpable at the moment. I’m like the fidgety eight-year-old who simply cannot sit still and is enthusiastic about everything. I’m in that zone when you’re so excited about what you’re doing that everyone around you starts getting excited about what they’re doing, too. And that’s exactly what I’ll be bringing to Write With Me 2020, this unapologetic blast of positivity that will have you raring to go and get those books written.
I’ve given myself a seven-week deadline to finish writing this book and another week to edit and proofread before I hand it in to my editor.
Can I do it?
We’ll see. I’ll be sharing my process and my updates with my Write With Me 2020 group and giving them the behind-the-scenes on what I’m doing, why, and to what end, so that they can use this real-world application in their own writing lives as well.
You can be a part of this, too.
