Lots of things on my list today that I’d prefer not to do. I’d rather sit outside with a cup of coffee and enjoy the Delhi winter. I’d rather go to the old Delhi book market and find paperback treasures that have been lost in the heaps. I’d rather go to the movie theater and buy overpriced popcorn and watch something that needs no brainpower whatsoever. I’d rather go for a long drive, and come back and write in my journal about what I saw.

I haven’t been feeling very creative lately. I feel very fortunate to have received all the opportunities I did last year, but a lot of the writing I’ve been doing in the last few months has been hardcore journalism of the jump up and go variety, which leaves little to the imagination. One of these days, I want to sit back, relax, and write a few essays. I miss writing essays. I even got kicked off my critique group in December for lack of participation. *sigh*

Next week, I’m traveling to Pune for a story and I’m very excited about that change of scenery. Just the remedy I need for the writing blahs.
