This is a first in my career: I had to stop and reconsider whether or not I wanted to hit “send” on a very timely pitch– which I knew would get assigned immediately– because I’ve been super busy and maybe couldn’t really take on any more at this point. I looked through my calendar, wrestled with how great a story this is, and deleted it.
No more pitches for at least two weeks, I don’t care how timely they are! The next day I have off, I’m sleeping. And going to dinner with my lovely boyfriend. And taking my mother out for that long-promised movie.
I’ve always said that I’m a slow writer. Well, no more! I can’t afford to be, to be honest– I’m knocking out two stories a week, not to count the blog entries. I’m sure they’ll start appearing all over the place at some point and I’ll let you know when they do, but for now, I’m off to report.
To borrow a phrase from McDonald’s, I’m lovin’ it!
