12.41 a.m. Receive confirmation of receipt and a note saying they’ll get back to me soon.
1.42 a.m. Acceptance letter arrives with terms of contract. I respond with a counter offer.
2.03 a.m. Editor says they can probably go higher, and she’s going to bat for me now. Will get back to me with a number soon.
2.17 a.m. Their next offer arrives. I accept it.
2.24 a.m. The essay is scheduled, and I get a request for invoice.
2.32 a.m. Send my address and details for payment.
2.35 a.m. Receive acknowledgement and a note of thanks.
Easy peasy.
