24 Jul 2008 The Big Fat Lie of My Big Fat Indian Wedding (Orato, July 08)
 |  Category: Now in Print  | Tags: , , ,

This is one of my favorite pieces of work, and I’m glad to finally have it published. I wrote it over a year ago.

Read it here.

(P.S. I’m currently on a work vacation in Jodhpur. Work, because the people I’m with are working. Vacation, because I’m not. I’ll be back early next week.)

    Mridu-
I really enjoyed reading this. I’ve always wanted to write a similar article, but on reasons I’ve chosen to be childfree. I’ve changed my mind on a lot of things since age 13, but this is the one thing I haven’t changed my mind on (I am now 36). Perhaps Orato would buy such an idea…
    Best,

  2. That’s an amazing piece, Mridu! I couldn’t quit reading ’till I got to the end. Wow. *claps hands* Bravo!

  3. Thanks, you guys.

Handan, I’m pretty sure they would. Also feel free to e-mail me if you need contacts at other newspapers/magazines who buy personal essays.
