Well that was a quick thinking impersonating as journalist. Strange that hotelers in Surat are still apprehensive offering service to single women. Time for Mr. Modi broaden his perpective and channel his energy into something significant.. out of the mediocrity.

How interesting. I find it hard to imagine such prejudices from my cultural viewpoint in Australia. Women’s rights are so protected here that you would never dream of such treatment.

It is wonderful that you were able to turn him around with your sense of humour.

I know what you mean about ‘the fear of media attention’. Having a reporter’s notebook and pen handy and on display will get you good service from otherwise surly attendants at airports.

Typical rural asian lifestyle. Reminds of my own origin, and the days when (single) women were looked down upon; they had to be at no other place than the home. Girls had to content themselves only to primary schooling, the next objective being marriage. No love, no choice, they had to wed the guy that the parents would have chosen. No longer now. Things have changed and women are like equals or even “more equal”.

Nice to plunge yourself in such stories which bring you in the time tunnel (of the past).
