I was going to write this newsletter to tell you all about The Finishers, my membership community in which 130+ driven writers and creatives come together to create life-changing work and get paid extremely well for it. We inspire each other, learn from each other, and keep one another accountable.
I wanted to tell you about all the incredible things that you’re missing out on if you’re not a part of this amazing community.
How this last week, for instance, I critiqued queries live for an hour for our community members and how we’re making this a monthly event in addition to the live weekly Q&As in which I get deep into members’ questions and provide my best answers.
How I put up new trainings on a weekly basis and how, just in the last few weeks, I’ve created trainings on deciding between self publishing and traditional publishing, writing fantastic letters of introduction, monitoring your cash flow, using Twitter to get freelancing clients, negotiating for better rates, writing better and faster, and dealing with creative highs and lows.
I thought I would mention the daily inspirational email you get from me, in which I give you a video, audio, or text message that will inspire you, motivate you to get into action, or simply make you question the way you view things.
Or I could tell you about the Word Count Challenge we’re starting in July, in which we’re dividing up into teams and racing against each other to get the highest word count. We’re organizing virtual writing sit-ins and I’m putting together tons of resources to get everyone working at the top of their game.
But really, in the end, any community of writers is not about the THINGS you get from it, but the level of support and accountability you are offered from other fellow members.
The Finishers is certainly chock full of resources and they will grow exponentially over the coming weeks and months. But that is not the heart and soul of The Finishers.
In essence, what The Finishers is about is providing a community for serious artists and creators who believe that their work is important, who want to make an impact with their work, and who want to get paid the best rates in the industry for it. The Finishers don’t apologize for saying they want their writing to change the world. But equally, we don’t apologize for saying that we want to be paid the absolute top rates for creating what we do.
In The Finishers, we understand that if you change a million lives and charge just a dollar for each life touched, you can easily make a million dollars. It is not about making money, but about impacting people with your work. You cannot create an impact in someone else’s life when your own roof is leaking and the heating bill sends you into stress.
I looked high and low for creative communities that would provide both creative inspiration as well as resources, guidance, and yes, motivation to go out and make a great living with that creative work, and I didn’t find any.
What makes you a Finisher is not the kind of writing you do or the income level you’re currently at.
What makes you a Finisher is how you think, who you are.
If you’re a driven creative person who wants to enjoy your creative work, make an impact, and make a fantastic living with it, you’re one of us. And I’d love to invite you to come check us out.
The Finishers is open to new members again this week.
As a special BONUS, if you sign up within the next 72 hours, you will get access to my six-week e-course REINVENT YOUR WRITING CAREER for free. That’s a $197 course in itself, that you get at no cost just for becoming a member of an amazing community that will keep you accountable, get you into action, and show you how to get results.
Come join this community of writers who are serious about their art and serious about the business of it. We’re looking forward to getting to know you.
