Posted this in The Finishers FB group yesterday:
FINISHED! September was the second most profitable month I’ve had in terms of self-published book sales EVER, including through various launches.
Mostly through automation!
I’m very pleased and excited about this, because for the first time since indie publishing my nonfiction, I’m seeing a way to not only make this a profitable and SUSTAINABLE income stream, but a full-time income all on its own.
Still a lot more work to do and targets to hit, but a fantastic start.
And I’m damn well celebrating!
I remember the first time I looked at my spreadsheets as a freelancer and realized that I could do this, that this could be a full-time career, that even though there was still work to be done and goals that needed to be hit before I could say I was freelancing successfully, those goals seemed achievable and within reach now.
I had that same moment a couple of days ago with the self-publishing side of my business. I can pay rent with this money. I can’t live off it and it’s not a full-time income yet, but it’s at a level now where I can see that happening. I can see a way to grow it. I can see the potential in my books, the way I once saw with my freelancing.
I, finally, have proof of concept.
Eventually, when I have the results to show, I may teach about this but in the meantime, I intend to share my journey and the lessons I’m learning along the way in The Finishers.
